Having lived in the area since 1980, Dorothy is loving her life as a retiree. Having tried the Errington Farmers’ Market on a drop-in basis in 2018, she enjoyed it so much that she is now a regular weekly vendor…and her hobby has grown by leaps and bounds.
Dorothy loves bringing diversity to the market with her wide variety of products. While she can barely keep up with the demand for her tangy best-selling pickles, she is always trying new recipes and often draws inspiration from suggestions offered by her customers.
Hands-down, tomatoes are my favourite…and I love to grow them, smell them, eat them and cook with them!
Dorothy’s handcrafted items are also delightful, and a great conversation starter. She loves to chat with people, and as a passionate traveler herself, particularly loves connecting with visitors to the region. Her smile is genuine and always draws a crowd around her table. In fact, it is just this kind of positive approach to life that has helped her beat cancer not once…but twice. This Saturday, when you stop by Dorothy’s booth for your weekly jar of jam or pickles, give her a high five.
And ask about her interesting menagerie of animals, too. She’s got rescue dogs, cats chickens…and a wonderfully supportive husband!
