Become a Vendor
Welcome to the Errington Farmers’ Market! We are excited to have you apply and be a part of our market and community – which has historically been agriculturally based. We see our market as a meeting place where we form relationships, build community, support farmers and local food self-sufficiency. Your participation in our market will strengthen our social fabric and enhance our overall culture.
Why Vend at the Errington Farmers’ Market?
Pro-active vendors who wish to promote their products and/or business can receive frequent mentions in our growing social media stream, such as Facebook, Instagram and on our website by emailing content to our manager or marketing team.
Over the years, in conjunction with the Errington Hall Board, the Farmers’ Market has invested in building permanent infrastructure in the park, including a coffee shop, washroom, community stage, benches, picnic tables, and even covered market stalls. While full season vendors are given priority for the stalls, there are usually a few available for drop-in vendors. There are also a number of folding tables on site available for vendors to use – for those who are just starting out and have not yet purchased their own table and tent. There is even a wagon available to help vendors transport goods from the parking area to the market!
To encourage small-scale and emerging farmers, we have reasonable vendor rates.
Help is available for new vendors that need assistance in setting a fair market price for their goods.
Vendors – with the exception of children – must be members of the Errington Farmers’ Market Society, which is only $5.00.
Full Season Pre-paid Vendor: $286.00
Half Season Pre-paid Vendor: $143.00
Drop-in Vendor: $15.00 / week
Children 16 & under: $2.00 / week
We offer free space to Non-profit Organizations for demonstrations and information distribution.
Vendors are asked to provide an item for the Market Basket on a weekly basis. We encourage our Vendors to seek opportunities to volunteer and assist with the many jobs, big or small, that go into running our Farmers’ Market.
As a member of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM), all vendors at the Errington Farmers’ Market must “Make, Bake, Grow, Raise or Wildcraft” the products they sell. Additionally, the BCAFM definition of “Farmers’ Market” requires that the majority of our vendors sell farm products. Farm products include local produce, meat, fish and shellfish, eggs, dairy products, honey, flowers, seeds, plants, herbal tinctures, and even cosmetics made from farm products or products made from farm-grown fibre (such as yarn, socks, rovings made with wool, hemp or other natural fibres).
